Walmart Opioid Settlement Reaches $50 Million — Aug 29, 2026The Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration announced Walmart will pay 50 million dollars to settle federal allegations that its pharmacies dispensed thousands of invalid opioid and other controlled-substance prescriptions dating back to 2013, with new oversight measures including a reporting hotline and active monitoring of prescriptions.
