AbbVie’s Zumilokibart Hits EASI-75 Goal in Phase 2 Eczema Trial
At EADV 2026, Almirall reported that patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis receiving continuous lebrikizumab achieved sustained improvements through week 108: 92.9% reached EASI-75, 73.8% reached EASI-90, and 66.7% had clear or almost-clear skin. Separately, AbbVie’s Phase 2 APEX Part B trial found that all three zumilokibart dose regimens significantly improved EASI-75 response at week 16 compared with placebo; the mid-dose response was 65.9%, versus 23.4% for placebo, and that regimen was selected for Phase 3 development. The trial also reported improvements in itch, with mid- and high-dose regimens showing benefits across key secondary measures. Lebrikizumab’s results provide longer-term evidence, while zumilokibart remains investigational and requires further study.
