Actor Michael Douglas Denies Sex Addiction

While Michael Douglas admits to going to rehab for alcohol addiction, he denies going to rehab for a sex addiction.
“I don’t know if I slept with so many women; I don’t see it that way. No, not me, no. I was a healthy product of the ‘60s,” the Academy Award winner told the U.K.’s The Sunday Times.
The interview was part of a tour promoting his upcoming memoir, “One Helluva Ride.”
Douglas said he wonders why British people are so “consumed with the issues of sex.” He was apparently referring to a headline from 1992 saying he went to rehab for sex addiction, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“A British tabloid editor came up with this story, which, thank you very much, here we are talking about at 82,” Douglas said. “It happens with the tabloids and, well, I won’t blame your country alone, but you’re probably better known for it than most. It wasn’t true.”
He added his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, told him he had to be monogamous if they were going to continue their relationship when they first started dating.
In “One Helluva Ride,” Douglas wrote that he had to “finish with five women” before committing to Zeta-Jones. He said that it wasn’t about his sex life.
“What Catherine said is, ‘If we’re going to continue this, then I want it to be monogamous,’” Douglas said. “And so I therefore, that evening, you know, made some calls to some people I was seeing, and that was that.”

Douglas has every right to set the record straight on what he actually went to rehab for.
