Pedestrians Killed, Woman Injured in US Crashes

A woman was seriously injured when a pickup struck her as she crossed U.S. 2 in Michigan’s Delta County; police said she was outside a marked crosswalk and drugs or alcohol are not suspected. In eastern Kentucky, a pedestrian was killed Monday morning by a semi-truck leaving a gas station’s fuel pumps. In Mobile, Alabama, Jayan Patel, 45, died after a passing vehicle struck him while he was helping a driver following a crash; the driver fled, and the investigation is ongoing. In Columbus, Ohio, an adult pedestrian walking in the roadway was killed after being struck by two vehicles that left the scene.
