Beilein Enters WVU Sports Hall of Fame

John Beilein was inducted into the WVU Sports Hall of Fame, bringing his relationship with the Mountaineers full circle nearly two decades after he left the school for Michigan in 2007. At the ceremony, he said he regretted how his departure ended but was moved by the warm welcome and the chance to conclude his WVU chapter on a positive note. Beilein coached West Virginia from 2002 to 2007, rebuilding an 8-20 team and leading the Mountaineers to the 2005 NCAA Elite Eight, consecutive Sweet 16 appearances and the 2007 NIT championship. He was inducted alongside six other honorees from WVU sports, including soccer players Kadeisha Buchanan and Ashley Lawrence.
