Ben Simmons Expected for Kings Preseason Debut

The Sacramento Kings have ruled Ben Simmons out of Monday’s preseason opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, taking a cautious approach as the three-time All-Star returns after missing the 2025-26 season. Simmons is expected to make his Kings debut Thursday against the Lakers or Saturday against the Golden State Warriors; reports say he is healthy and has impressed in training camp. Sacramento signed the 30-year-old to a one-year, $3.5 million contract, and his recent seasons have been limited by injuries and a reduced role. Coach Doug Christie praised Simmons’ basketball ability and said he enjoys having him around the team.
