Career Expos Connect Students, Job Seekers With Employers
Skilled-trades expos in Danville, Illinois, and Fairbanks, Alaska, are connecting students and job seekers with employers, unions, apprenticeship programs and training options. At Danville Area Community College’s Fall Expo, Vermilion County Works highlighted local careers that can offer strong pay after one to three years of training, often without a four-year degree. Fairbanks’ Apprenticeship Expo likewise introduced students to trade careers and apprenticeship conditions, amid projections of substantial demand for skilled workers in Alaska as major projects move forward.
