Catherine Zeta-Jones Debuts Welsh Accent in Kill Jackie
Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Jackie Price, a former drug dealer turned art dealer targeted by a group of elite assassins, in the crime thriller series Kill Jackie, adapted from a novel whose lead character was male. Zeta-Jones said she was drawn to Jackie’s blunt, morally complex personality and found the role liberating, especially after years of playing characters with accents unlike her own. For the first time in her career, she uses her native Welsh accent, which she said helped her feel more grounded in the character. She also highlighted the series’ high-energy action and said filming in Wales and presenting the project at Comic-Con added to the experience.
