Colorado House Candidates Vie for 65 Seats
All 65 seats in Colorado’s House are up for election in November, with Democrats defending a 43-22 majority. In House District 58, Republican Larry Don Suckla is poised to retain his seat after the Democratic nominee withdrew and the party’s replacement candidate was disqualified over a paperwork error. Other races include an open seat in District 15 after Republican Scott Bottoms chose to run for governor, incumbent Ava Flanell’s bid for a full term in District 14, and open contests in Districts 44 and 51. Candidates and district profiles point to affordability, housing, energy costs, public services, education, transportation and budget pressures as prominent concerns, while candidates offer differing approaches to government spending, regulation, energy and fiscal policy.
