Communities list upcoming October events

Community calendars highlight a range of October activities, from El Paso’s “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” concert and a local artists’ and farmers’ market to fall festivals, Halloween events, library programs and community meetings in Indiana. Newton and Benton county listings include a school carnival, haunted playground, pancake breakfast and Fall for Goodland, while South Lake County’s calendar features a free family train day, park movies, Boo Bash and trunk-or-treat events. Cape Town’s October lineup includes ballet, a South African Pride Ball, a Ne-Yo concert and a free orchid show. Carthage-area officials also say several events are coming up this month, with further details available through the local chamber.
