Communities promote projects, partnerships, opportunities
Across several communities, local organizations are creating ways for residents and students to connect, contribute and develop new skills. In Marcellus, school district students discussed career interests and project ideas with local officials and public works staff, who shared potential opportunities and connections. In Columbia, a volunteer fair brought together more than 30 groups focused on environmental stewardship, while a university team is restoring Northern Arizona University’s Shand Garden as a shared learning space linking food production and student education. Dunedin’s public art society is giving member artists a platform through an exhibition that also supports the society and aims to broaden participation in the arts. In Shannon, a community partnership is organizing an event to showcase local initiatives and help people find ways to get involved.
