Communities Schedule Meetings on Land, Water
Across several communities, public meetings will address the management of local land and natural resources. In Eagle River, a citizens’ group is developing ideas for county-owned Riverside Park and the fairgrounds, including recreation, events, and recognition of the area’s Anishinaabe history, amid debate over whether residential development would better support city finances. A Cumberland County forum will bring regional experts together to discuss water-resource trends, while Wyoming’s Recreation Advisory Committee will consider recreation fees on federal public lands and waters. In Joshua Tree, the water district is set to continue discussion of the county’s proposed sewer-feasibility project and review nitrate levels in district wells. Washington County’s soil and water conservation district will also meet to review finances, project cost-share requests, and staff reports.
