ContourGlobal starts Arizona solar build, completes Colorado complex
ContourGlobal has begun construction of Project Sterling, a 509-MWp solar facility paired with 360 MW/1.4 GWh of battery storage in Arizona’s Mohave County. Expected to be completed in 2028, the project is designed to generate more than 1.1 TWh annually, with Tesla contracted to purchase about 90% of its output; construction is expected to support roughly 400 jobs. Separately, ContourGlobal and Platte River Power Authority completed the Black Hollow Sun complex in Northern Colorado, bringing its 257-MWac solar capacity fully online four months ahead of schedule. The 1,700-acre facility is expected to produce 608 GWh of electricity a year for Platte River’s communities, enough to serve more than 73,000 homes and businesses.
