Cowboys Beat Texans 34-30 With Lamb, Pickens

The Cowboys’ offense is producing at a high level behind Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who leads the league in catches and receiving yards, while George Pickens has relatively modest season totals and no touchdowns through four games. Dallas views Pickens’ downfield routes as valuable even when they do not lead to frequent targets, and his two catches in the 34-30 win over Houston included a 53-yard gain and a crucial late 22-yarder before Lamb scored the winning touchdown. Analysts argue the Cowboys should create more deliberate opportunities for both receivers, especially against upcoming opponents with injuries or concerns in the secondary, while keeping the run game involved to help open the passing attack. A contrasting assessment says Dallas has yet to show it is well coached and remains reliant on its offense scoring around 30 points to win, citing defensive and decision-making concerns.
