CSC reportedly probes 5-10 Power Four schools
The College Sports Commission is conducting longer-term inquiries involving five to 10 Power Four schools over possible violations of college sports revenue-sharing and name, image and likeness rules. The schools have not been publicly identified, and the inquiries do not necessarily mean formal investigations or findings of wrongdoing; reports say investigators have visited campuses and interviewed people in person. Schools may distribute about $21.5 million directly to athletes in the 2026-27 academic year, while athletes can also receive legitimate third-party NIL compensation. The commission is examining whether boosters or associated businesses are being used to disguise payments and evade the cap; large roster spending alone does not establish a violation.
