CVS Opens Pharmacy-Only Store, Plans 20 More

CVS Health opened its first pharmacy-focused location in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood, aiming to restore access to medications and pharmacist-led care in an area where pharmacy closures have left residents with fewer options. The walk-up pharmacy in Nubian Square has no conventional retail aisles, but offers prescriptions, immunizations, other health services, a curated selection of over-the-counter products, and safe disposal for medications and used needles. Items not stocked in the store can be ordered online for free home delivery. CVS said the central location was chosen to serve a community where many residents walk or lack transportation; nearly 80,000 people live within a mile.
