EA to Restore Original Mark Hamill Footage for Wing Commander III Remaster

EA producer Jim Vessella announced a Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger 30th Anniversary Edition during a presentation at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo. The 1994 space-combat game’s live-action sequences, starring Mark Hamill and other actors, are set to be restored from original source tapes recovered during EA’s video-archive work. The presentation also lists original and upscaled footage, gameplay up to 60 frames per second, controller support, a Community Enhancement Patch and “Kilrathi Saga” integration. Steam, GOG and the EA app are identified as planned PC storefronts, but EA has not announced a release date, price or clarified the scope of the Saga integration.
