Selma Blair Reportedly Arrested After Midair Door Attempt
Selma Blair, 54, was detained by police around 11 p.m. Sunday after a Delta Air Lines flight from Los Angeles parked at the gate at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Two flight attendants reported injuries. Blair and one flight attendant were taken to a hospital for evaluation. The FBI issued Blair a violation notice for assault within special maritime and territorial jurisdiction. The case will be handled in federal petty violations court in Brooklyn; no appearance date has been set. TMZ, citing law enforcement sources, reported Blair punched one flight attendant and bit another, was restrained aboard, and that dispatch audio sought medical personnel at the gate for a bloody nose and bite marks. TMZ also reported she kicked a Port Authority officer and assaulted a nurse during hospital transport and faces two state assault counts. Delta said it could not corroborate the door allegation and said it "has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first." A representative said Blair "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct" and, "Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition." Her service dog Scout was unharmed and picked up by her attorney at JFK.
