Flooding, Water Disruptions Close Schools Across Regions

Flooding and weather-related damage disrupted schools in several regions. In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, heavy rain triggered flooding and landslides, prompting authorities to close all schools on Tuesday; most reopened for in-person classes Wednesday, while 15 remained closed because of water-supply problems, damage, or use as an emergency shelter. In Kent, England, flooding forced Sunny Bank Primary School and reportedly its nursery to close on October 8. Seaham Trinity Primary School in County Durham also closed temporarily on October 7 because of a major water leak, with the possibility of reopening later that day if repairs were completed.
