H-E-B plans Texas expansion, 400-job store
H-E-B will open a 125,000-square-foot store near Converse at I-10 and Loop 1604 on Oct. 28, adding more than 400 jobs in San Antonio’s fast-growing East Side. The $21.2 million store will include a True Texas BBQ restaurant, drive-through pharmacy, curbside pickup and home delivery, alongside specialty grocery departments; H-E-B is also donating $25,000 to Boysville San Antonio. The retailer has separately opened its third San Marcos store and plans major East Side investments in refrigerated and bakery production facilities. In North Texas, H-E-B bought a site in Southwest Fort Worth, with construction expected to start in early 2027 and a store opening anticipated in late 2028.
