Hawaii Faces Arizona State After Four Losses
Hawai‘i heads to Arizona State seeking to rebound from a difficult stretch, while trying to fix slow starts, offensive-line penalties and a running game averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. The Warriors have also dealt with injuries, though receivers Tre’ Griffiths and Audric Harris are back, and Cam Barfield’s potential return could help the ground attack. Quarterback Micah Alejado gives Hawai‘i a passing threat, but Arizona State will be looking to respond after a 55-19 loss to Baylor in which its defense surrendered four touchdown passes and more than 300 passing yards. That sets up a key test for the Sun Devils’ defense against a Hawai‘i team with passing potential, and for ASU’s offense under coordinator Marcus Arroyo after Kenny Dillingham handed off play-calling duties. The matchup preview favored Arizona State at home, while noting Hawai‘i’s recent losses and the Sun Devils’ defensive concerns.
