House Fires Kill Dogs in Three Communities

Separate house fires in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Los Osos, California, each killed a dog; the Cape Girardeau fire caused no reported human injuries, while the Los Osos fire displaced residents who were referred to the Red Cross for help. Fire crews extinguished both blazes, and officials were investigating the Cape Girardeau fire’s cause. A separate report also describes a puppy dying in a fire at a rental home in Ridgefield, Washington.
