IHG to cancel 2,000 shares repurchased in early October buybacks

InterContinental Hotels Group repurchased 1,000 ordinary shares on Oct. 5 and another 1,000 on Oct. 2 through Goldman Sachs International under its existing shareholder-authorized buyback program. The company intends to cancel both batches; after the Oct. 5 purchase, it reported 147,158,314 shares in issue, excluding treasury shares, compared with 147,159,314 after the Oct. 2 transaction. The purchases continue IHG’s capital-return program but are modest in scale.
