Indonesia Court Rejects Challenge to Gibran’s Education Credentials
Indonesia’s Constitutional Court rejected a petition seeking to disqualify Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka over questions about whether his overseas education met the legal requirement for candidates to have completed senior high school or an equivalent level. The judges said the documents did not convincingly establish that qualification, and the ruling noted that no graduation certificate was presented. But because Gibran had already been sworn in, the court said it could not annul his election or remove him from office, leaving questions about his eligibility to other institutions. Gibran said he respected the court’s process and would continue supporting President Prabowo Subianto’s programs.
