Infosys Expects Limited Impact From US PERM Suspension
Infosys filed a regulatory statement with stock exchanges saying the U.S. Department of Labor suspension of new and pending Permanent Labor Certification applications will not materially affect the company. "We do not anticipate yesterday's announcement of such suspension to have a material impact on the organization," Infosys said. U.S. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling announced the suspension last week for eight major tech firms: Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL Technologies, Capgemini, Cognizant, Microsoft, and Adobe. TCS issued its own statement acknowledging the suspension and committing to compliance. TCS said its PERM applications have been in single digits over the past two years and that it plans to hire 15,000 additional local employees over five years across 31 U.S. offices and delivery centers. Filings have fallen sharply at several firms: TCS filed 2 in U.S. FY2026 versus 1,804 in 2024; HCL submitted 59 in 2026 versus 323 the prior year; Infosys recorded 87 in 2024; Wipro filed more than 500 across two years. CONTESTED: No contested facts found.
