Jessica Springsteen Expecting First Child With Nicola Philippaerts

Jessica Springsteen, 34, and Belgian show jumper Nicola Philippaerts, 33, announced they are expecting their first child in a joint Instagram post on October 10, 2026. The carousel showed Mediterranean vacation photos captioned "New adventures," including images of Jessica or Nicola cradling her baby bump. The child will be Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa's second grandchild after Samuel and his wife welcomed Lily in 2022. Jessica's brothers are Evan, 36, and Samuel, 32. Both parents compete in show jumping. Jessica took silver with the U.S. team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Nicola, son of four-time Olympian Ludo Philippaerts of Oudsbergen and twin to show jumper Olivier, rode for Belgium at Rio 2016. They have been linked since 2024. Bruce congratulated Jessica's Olympic team by name on SiriusXM in August 2021; Patti posted "BRINGING HOME THE SILVER—Congratulations to the USA 2020 Equestrian Jumping Team!! What a day…what a ride…" In June 2025 on Michelle Obama's podcast he said of Samuel, "I watch my youngest son with his daughter, [and] he's a better dad than I was — already" and "That gives me great pride. I go, 'Well, he's really doing it right, you know.'" Bruce and Patti have not commented on the pregnancy.
