Lisa Documentary Charts Break From K-Pop System

The documentary Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, follows Blackpink’s Lisa (Lalisa Manobal) as she moves from years under the strict management of YG Entertainment toward greater independence and creative control. It chronicles a pivotal period in which she pursued solo music, launched her own management company, performed at Coachella and the Oscars, and made her acting debut in The White Lotus. Lisa describes the transition as challenging but says it helped her find confidence and her own artistic voice. The film also offers an intimate look at her personal life and examines the pressures and expectations surrounding K-pop stardom.
