Little Rock VA Hospital Reborn as 200 Apartments
Little Rock’s Parks and Recreation Commission holds open meetings to advise the city on park plans, facilities, budgets and policies, with its work guided by the 2020 master plan and public participation. The city is also hosting the 12th annual Paul Laurence Dunbar Community Festival. A former 400,000-square-foot VA hospital, vacant for decades after the agency moved in 1984, has been rehabilitated into more than 200 apartments and commercial space, preserving key midcentury architectural features. The project is Arkansas’s largest completed historic tax-credit rehabilitation. Separately, the 1885 A.D. Beach House in downtown Little Rock is being offered for sale, featuring preserved Victorian details and a landscaped 0.79-acre lot.
