LSU Offense Sets Records With 101 Plays

LSU’s 63-14 win over McNeese showcased a high-powered offense and several standout freshmen. The Tigers set a school record with 39 first downs and ran a program-record 101 offensive plays, averaging 7.2 yards per play while scoring 63 points. Freshman defensive tackle Deuce Geralds made history by recording a sack and scoring a goal-line touchdown in the same game; he entered the matchup leading FBS freshmen with four sacks. Freshman running back Harlem Berry also broke through, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. The performances add to growing expectations for Lane Kiffin’s first LSU team as it returns to SEC play.
