McCartney’s Paris Show Spotlights Ocean Threats
Stella McCartney used her Spring/Summer 2027 Paris Fashion Week show to spotlight threats to ocean life, including overfishing and climate change, with the message “sea life, not seafood.” The collection featured dolphins and other marine imagery, wave-inspired designs and ocean-toned colors, while the show’s staging and soundtrack reinforced its environmental themes. McCartney said fishing practices can kill marine animals beyond the intended catch and urged audiences to reconsider the industry’s impact on the oceans. The animal-free collection continued her long-standing rejection of leather, fur and feathers, and highlighted alternatives and more responsibly sourced materials; McCartney also called on major luxury brands to help scale sustainable options.
