Missing Children Prompt CODI Alerts Across Virginia

Virginia authorities issued CODI alerts for two missing children: 4-year-old Messiah Ismael Muhammad of Roanoke, last seen at home on Oct. 5 wearing a white T-shirt and red, white and blue sweatpants, and 13-year-old Elisa Ruth Brewer of Virginia Beach, last seen on foot on Sept. 27. Police say both disappearances pose credible threats to the children’s safety; Brewer’s alert was issued eight days after she was last seen. CODI alerts can be used when authorities believe a missing child faces a safety threat even when there is no evidence of abduction; anyone with information should contact Roanoke police at 540-853-2212 or Virginia Beach police at 757-385-5000, respectively.
