Montana State Scrimmages; Mississippi State Plans Exhibition

Montana State gave fans an early look at its women’s basketball team at the Blue and Gold Scrimmage, where Taylee Chirrick, Madison O’Connor and Brianne Bailey led the scoring. Dylan Philip returned after missing last season with an injury, while the Bobcats continue preparations with a roster featuring 10 returners and several newcomers. Separately, Mississippi State will play Louisiana Tech in an exhibition Oct. 18 at Tushka Arena on the Choctaw Central High School campus, a first major basketball event at the venue and part of the university’s partnership with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The exhibition is intended to give both teams preseason competition while bringing Division I women’s basketball to the Choctaw community; admission is $10.
