Nevada Guard Returns From Historic Epic Fury Mission
More than 200 members of the Nevada Air National Guard’s 152nd Airlift Wing returned to Reno after a six-month deployment supporting Operation Epic Fury, the U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran. The airmen and four C-130 aircraft were mobilized on short notice in what officials called the state Guard’s largest such deployment since the 1991 Persian Gulf War, providing tactical airlift for personnel, munitions and other supplies. Guard leaders said the unit operated amid significant threats, completed its missions without losses and was fully mission-effective. Families welcomed the returning airmen at the Reno base, with some describing the strain of the deployment and the adjustment of having loved ones home.
