New hubs target youth, health, digital, business needs
New community hubs are opening in several regions to connect residents with resources, skills and opportunities. In Barrie, a youth hub will give young people in housing communities a place to gather and help shape peer-led programs. A new IT center in Zhob, Pakistan, aims to expand digital training and technology-sector job prospects for local youth, while West Hollywood’s pilot health hub will provide free, round-the-clock access to health, safety and harm-reduction supplies. In Grand Rapids, a new Hispanic Chamber facility will support Latino entrepreneurs and workers through training, business resources and community events. Philadelphia is also developing a creative hub intended to bring artists, residents and small businesses together.
