Carnival results lift Norwegian cruise stock 5 percent
Carnival Corp. shares rose 12% on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, after the operator posted fiscal third-quarter adjusted earnings of $1.43 a share, above the Visible Alpha estimate of $1.35, and raised its full-year outlook. Full-year EPS guidance moved to $2.24 from $2.22; normalized net yields are now seen at 2.7%, up from 2.25% in June. Royal Caribbean rose about 6% to 7% and Norwegian Cruise Line rose 5% in the same session. Outlets differed slightly on revenue: AOL/Investopedia cited $8.44 billion against an $8.35 billion expectation; Yahoo Finance cited $8.43 billion against $8.39 billion expected. On the earnings call, CEO Josh Weinstein said demand was broad-based and healthy, that Americans are catching up to Europeans in treating vacations as sacrosanct in good times and bad, and that the company is an amazing value when consumer confidence or gasoline prices or other inflation weigh on households. He said Carnival offset a $150 million higher-energy impact in the quarter by using less fuel, and that 2028 is off to an excellent start at higher occupancy and prices with the booking curve further out than ever at this point in the year. Despite the rally, Carnival stock was still down nearly 20% year-to-date in 2026. AOL separately reported net yields seen up 3.8% in fiscal 2026, above a 3.2% consensus, and record booked occupancy and pricing for 2027.
