Nuvacore Seeks Funding at $2.5B Valuation

Six-month-old California chip startup Nuvacore is seeking to raise hundreds of millions of dollars at a roughly $2.5 billion valuation, though the fundraising round has not closed and its size and terms could change. The company has not yet brought a product to market and is developing a central processor for data centers, where CPUs help manage Nvidia AI accelerators and run autonomous software agents. Nuvacore says it will design the processor’s core functionality before choosing an architecture such as x86 or Arm, aiming to tailor it to common AI and data-center workloads. Founded by chip engineers Gerard Williams, John Bruno and Ram Srinivasan, the startup raised an earlier seed round led by Sequoia Capital.
