Oettinger Posts Second Shutout in Stars' 4-0 Win

Jake Oettinger recorded consecutive shutouts as Dallas beat San Jose 5-0 and Buffalo 4-0, stopping 39 straight shots and helping the Stars rebound from two opening losses. The Buffalo win featured a four-point game from Mikko Rantanen, with Jason Robertson, Sam Steel and Roope Hintz also scoring. Dallas’ strong team defense has been central to the turnaround, limiting opponents’ shots and chances as well as goals. Oettinger’s shutout streak ended in a later 2-1 shootout loss to Pittsburgh, when Connor Dewar scored in the third period; Oettinger stopped 19 of 20 shots and remained effective through his first four starts.
