Olivia Culpo, Christian McCaffrey Welcome Second Son
In the black-and-white hospital frames, Olivia Culpo held the newborn close. Another showed Christian McCaffrey with the infant. A third caught their daughter Colette meeting her brother. On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the couple posted the joint Instagram slideshow of the new family of four.
Culpo’s caption was a name and a white heart: Roman Augustus McCaffrey 🤍. On Stories she added: Heart is exploding. The boy had been born September 29, 2026. She was 34. McCaffrey was 30. Colette Annalise McCaffrey, born July 13, 2025, was fourteen months old and already in the photographs as an older sister.
They began dating in 2019 after a blind date. Four years on, on April 7, 2023, they were engaged. Culpo had wanted the news held longer than it held. She put the update on Instagram Story herself: We tried to keep this quiet for as long as possible, but apparently word travels fast. I'm marrying my best friend, I love you so much, fiancé.
They married on June 29, 2024, in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. McCaffrey is the son of three-time Super Bowl champion Ed McCaffrey. Their first child arrived the next summer, Colette Annalise McCaffrey on July 13, 2025.
Six months after that birth, still healing from the C-section, Culpo learned she was four weeks pregnant. She had not planned the timing at all.
On May 8, 2026, her thirty-fourth birthday, the couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post. The photographs showed them on a picnic blanket with Colette and their dog Oliver, a strip of sonogram images laid out on the cloth. Culpo’s caption read: Best birthday gift ❤️ Baby #2 coming soon 🥹.
A video they shared later caught the test itself. McCaffrey said, You’re pregnant! The clip then cut to them telling family. In a May reflection Culpo put the surprise in plain terms: I did not think that this was going to happen the way that it did. I am so fortunate to be able to bring another child into the world. Few things that have been running through my mind, 'cause I just really didn't plan on this at all. … Well, I hope that this baby is healthy. As with Colette, they chose not to learn the baby’s sex in advance.
The delivery would be another C-section. Culpo said it in a TikTok video from July: The plan is I'm having a C-section because I had a C-section in July last year. So having a VBAC [Vaginal Birth After Cesarean] wasn't an option. A VBAC is a vaginal birth after a previous cesarean section. That path was not open.

She set the date to his week. I scheduled [the delivery] on a day where Christian has a slightly easier [schedule], she said. Basically, it's on an off day for him, so he'll be able to come just for the birth. And then aside from that, he'll have to go back. So it's gonna be different than my first birth.
On The Squeeze podcast she had already named the larger change without softening it: There's totally a shift. Whether or not you want there to be or not, you have somebody that's physically dependent on you. So I'm not going to sugarcoat it. Yeah, it's scary.
He would be there for the birth. Then he would go back.
Kyle Juszczyk made the role public. He congratulated Culpo and McCaffrey on the arrival of their son and confirmed that he would be the baby’s godfather. On Twitter, Coach Yac wrote a plain note of congratulations to Christian McCaffrey and Olivia Culpo on the birth of their son, Roman Augustus. The San Francisco 49ers wished them all the best.
The messages landed while the season was already moving. Juszczyk’s confirmation fixed one permanent place in the new household. The rest of the notes simply named the parents and the child together.
McCaffrey had used the off-day window to be present for the delivery. After it closed he returned to the 2026 slate. The season was already underway for the San Francisco 49ers running back. Whatever space the calendar had made for the birth closed around the ordinary demands of the week.
The household now held two children under two, sister and brother fourteen months apart, both under the same roof. The joint Instagram post of October 10 had set the four of them in public view. One additional frame in that slideshow left the hospital entirely.
Culpo stood in a garden. She held Roman. Colette stood beside her.
