Panthers Captain Barkov Out 6-8 Weeks
Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov is expected to miss six to eight weeks with a left knee injury sustained against San Jose on Oct. 1. Coach Paul Maurice said Barkov will not need surgery and will undergo rehabilitation, with a possible return in mid-to-late November. The injury initially raised fears of another lengthy absence after Barkov missed the previous season with a serious right knee injury, but the prognosis has eased those concerns. Barkov said he received good news and is confident in the medical team helping him recover.
