Wells Family Seeks Federal Review of Death

Nolan Wells’ family, joined by civil rights attorney Ben Crump, elected officials and advocacy groups, is pressing for a federal investigation into the 18-year-old’s death after a Mississippi grand jury declined to bring charges; his cause and manner of death remain undetermined. The family cites discrepancies between autopsies and unanswered questions, while local prosecutors say they gave the grand jury available evidence, and some claims about the case have been publicly disputed.
