Parks Across Five States Offer Trails, Recreation

Walker Mill Regional Park in Maryland offers 504 acres of trails, sports facilities, and the award-winning Woodland Wonderland Playground. Near Branson, Missouri, eight parks and natural areas provide Ozark scenery and outdoor activities within about an hour of downtown. In Indianapolis, Fort Harrison State Park preserves former military grounds and offers trails including the challenging, three-mile Schoen Creek loop. Christmas Rocks State Nature Preserve in Ohio features quiet forest paths, steep climbs, and a rocky overlook amid the Hocking Hills region. Rock Springs Conservation Area in Decatur, Illinois, is hosting its annual after-dark Treat Trail, with costumed visitors invited to walk the trail and forest for treats and activities.
