Police Boost Security in Delhi, Oshkosh, Evansville

Oshkosh police are increasing enforcement and public outreach ahead of the unsanctioned fall Pub Crawl, an event near the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh campus that has involved excessive drinking, disorder and weapons-related incidents. A new nuisance-party ordinance allows officers to order unsafe gatherings to end and nonresidents to leave; those who fail to comply can face citations, with further enforcement possible for repeat violations. Police plan extra patrols and specialized teams, including mobile field force and drone units, and say enforcement may include citations or arrests. The department is urging people not to participate and says the added measures are intended to address safety risks before gatherings escalate.
