Laredo Chamber Plans Four-Candidate Mayoral Forum

Laredo’s Chamber of Commerce is hosting a nonpartisan forum for the four mayoral candidates on Oct. 7 at the Laredo Country Club, with discussion focused on issues including business and economic development, permitting, infrastructure, planning and growth, public safety, and government accountability. The candidates are incumbent Mayor Victor Trevino, council member Alyssa Cigarroa, Alfonso “Poncho” Casso and J.D. Gonzalez; the event is intended to inform voters rather than serve as a campaign rally, and it will also be livestreamed. The forum is part of a broader series of public election forums organized by the city covering council districts, the Municipal Court race and the mayoral contest.
