Candidate Debates and Forums Planned Across States
Broadcasters and media partnerships are staging or streaming candidate debates and forums ahead of the November elections. Events include public forums for state and local candidates in Wisconsin and Massachusetts, Arkansas congressional debates, North Carolina candidate forums, and a televised New Mexico 2nd Congressional District debate. In Arkansas’s U.S. Senate debate, Democrat Hallie Shoffner and Libertarian Jeff Wadlin criticized Republican incumbent Tom Cotton for not attending and discussed inflation, the Iran war, federal debt, tariffs and farm policy. A South Carolina Senate debate among Darline Graham, Annie Andrews and Kasie Whitener featured partisan exchanges and competing proposals to address high costs.
