Royal Caribbean plans $3B Sandals stake acquisition
Royal Caribbean Group has agreed to acquire a 50% stake in Sandals and Beaches Resorts for about $3 billion, with the deal expected to close in early 2027 pending approvals. The investment would add established Caribbean all-inclusive resorts to a portfolio that already includes Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Silversea, private destinations and planned river cruises. The companies say they will explore ways to connect their offerings and broaden distribution, aiming to attract guests to more kinds of vacations and encourage repeat travel. The practical benefits for travelers have not yet been detailed; ideas such as resort day visits or combined land-and-sea packages remain possibilities rather than announced features.
