Sabres, Mammoth seek early-season rebound

Buffalo and Utah meet seeking a rebound after lopsided losses in which both teams generated plenty of shots but struggled to score. The Sabres were shut out 4-0 by Dallas, extending their power-play drought to 0-for-13; goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen has also struggled, though Buffalo’s defensive play has contributed to the problems. Utah lost 6-1 to Boston, with goalie Sebastian Cossa pulled early, while the Mammoth also failed to convert their chances. Buffalo will look for more production beyond its most consistent forward line, and Owen Power’s strong start gives him a chance to reach a notable early-season scoring milestone for a Sabres defenseman.
