Sanders, Jackson Rally Across Maine Senate Tour

Bernie Sanders rallied in Bangor with Troy Jackson, the Democratic Senate nominee challenging incumbent Susan Collins. Sanders urged Mainers to elect Jackson, said a Democratic majority was necessary to hold President Donald Trump accountable, and urged Democrats to pursue an agenda for working families. Jackson, a former Maine Senate president, emphasized support for working people and unions. He pledged to expand Social Security and Medicare, including backing Medicare for All, and cited Maine policies such as free school meals and paid family leave as initiatives he would promote nationally. The two said they would work together on affordability and other issues. The race is closely watched and could determine control of the U.S. Senate. C-SPAN lists a Jackson town hall in Gorham, Maine, at 6:30 p.m. EDT. No contested facts found. Rated coverage is from left and center outlets only.
