South African Series Spotlights Seven Equine Welfare Groups

Equine welfare efforts are receiving attention through a South African documentary series profiling seven organizations involved in rescue, rehabilitation, aftercare and therapeutic programs for people facing disabilities or trauma. In Oregon, Mustangs To The Rescue will take over Equine Outreach Inc.’s horses and programs as the longtime nonprofit winds down, continuing rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and disaster-response work. In Indiana, a festival booth is raising money to keep Hoof Beats’ equine-assisted activities free for veterans. A Dallas-area therapy nonprofit, Rustic Way Ranch, says its work with teenagers has grown in 2026 and credits its Gospel-centered message as one factor in that growth.
