Warriors’ Porzingis Out Indefinitely With Health Issue
Kristaps Porzingis is out indefinitely with an undisclosed health issue and will not travel with the Golden State Warriors to Hawaii for training camp. No return timeline has been given. General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. told reporters Monday that he is not marking Porzingis down as being out to start the season or anything like that and that Porzingis is just not available this week. Anthony Slater reported the absence. Porzingis was acquired by the Warriors in February in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks for Jonathan Kuminga and Buddy Hield. He played 32 games last season, including 15 with Golden State where he started 11 and averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 23.7 minutes per game. He signed a two-year, $40 million deal with the Warriors over the summer and was working out with the team last week. It remains unclear if the issue is connected to his previously disclosed POTS diagnosis. Dunleavy also said Jimmy Butler III, recovering from a torn ACL, and Moses Moody, recovering from a knee injury, have both progressed to very light on-court activities. The team's center depth otherwise includes Al Horford and Charles Bassey. No factual disputes were found among outlets. The return timeline and any link to POTS remain unresolved.
