17-Year-Old West Virginia Football Recruit Killed in Indiana Shooting
Chris Wilson Jr., a 17-year-old Yorktown High School football standout committed to West Virginia, was fatally shot early Monday in Muncie, Indiana. Police said he was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene; the investigation is ongoing, and authorities had not announced a suspect or motive. Wilson was a highly regarded defensive end who chose West Virginia in June over several other college programs. Yorktown’s principal called his death a tremendous loss for the family, teammates and school community, and officials said there was no threat to students or the school.
